Convert any printable document to PDF and attach it to the correct patient chart — in 7 steps.
Open the document in any program
This works in Word, Chrome, Excel, a fax app, a sleep lab portal — any application that can print.
Press Ctrl + P → select Save as PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF
In the printer/destination dropdown, choose the PDF option — do not send to a physical printer.
Name the file and save to _UPLOAD TO CHARM
Use the format Patient_FileType_Date (e.g., Smith_HRPO_2026-03-19.pdf). Always save to the designated folder.
Open Charm → Patients → select the correct patient
Confirm the patient's name and date of birth match the document before entering the chart.
Click Documents → drag & drop the PDF or click From Local Drive
Drag the file from _UPLOAD TO CHARM directly onto the page, or use the button to browse for it.
Set Document Type, confirm the Date, toggle File for Review → select your Provider
Use the document's service date — not today. Route clinical documents (sleep studies, referrals, physician notes) to your Provider for review.
Click Upload → verify the file appears in the Documents list
Confirm the file name, category, date, and assigned reviewer are all correct before moving on.
Keep File Explorer open beside Charm. Drag the PDF directly onto the Documents page to skip the file picker — fastest method once you know the workflow.
